Hey Rich, remember all the media hype and gratuitous coverage of the "Day On The Green" concerts at the Coliseum back in the day? Yeah, me neither. Given it was a single day event, but still, it went off with very little fanfare.
FOMO bunch of fools everybody gets excited about nothing. Bay Area media is pathetic they all act like everything is the first time like when it rains in October . Zero percent of concert goers even watch the local news guess the stories are for the few remaining old whiteys living in South City.

You nailed it. KTVU can run Outside Lands coverage until they’re blue in the face, but if you walked around and asked 100 people if they’ve even heard of KTVU, you might get a few yeses. Ask how many actually watch it or can name a single person on air? That number plummets to zero. They’re shouting into a void.
Totally agree. No one at Outside Lands is watching mainstream news, about the festival or anything else. But hey, at least Lorraine in Livermore can stay informed about what those young “hooligans” in San Francisco are up to.
KPIX is a joke. NBC and KTVU was there to at least give enough heads up of the 680 closures.
On another note the Late News format on weeknights has changed where the anchor is now utilizing the virtual studio to give Bay Area stories. B block like middle 11:15 or so, it’s kind of like a 24/7 National lite just no interviews. The anchor is not serious or its quite fake.
8 and 9pm are repeated but the anchor is great. Not downplaying their mission is telling stories but those stories often take up filler time, sometimes add little to no meaning. Bottom line, KPIX is a joke, and they can benefit without an 8 and 9pm newscast.
