The KNBR/KCBS Misfits in Action

9 comments:

  1. About KCBS. Back in the day you could turn on KCBS radio and know who the anchor was at that time slot. The sports was live not a five day old repeat. You didn't have commercials lined up back to back. Helicopters would fly over the bay area for live traffic reports. Reporters that gave all the info you needed to know. Now at the top of the hour you still have pretty good live CBS national news and then it's all down hill for the next 56 minutes.

    1. Now, you have Jennifer Hodges and Pat Thurston arguing over who can interview the same guests and get kickbacks from them.

  2. Back in the day, KCBS was owned by CBS radio which tells you all you need to know.

  4. In KCBS, we're watching the last dying breaths of radio as a viable business model. KCBS should shut down before they desecrate its storied history any further. It's nothing but a laughing stock now and an insult to their listener's intelligence. I'm embarrassed on the rare occasion I listen to it... even when I'm alone!

  5. Writing that KNBR and KCBS are dysfunctional is like writing the sun will rise tomorrow. I am unsurprised by their devolution.
There are some bright spots, as there are everywhere, but 90% are “mailing it in” and the other 10% are carrying the load.
