TV News Check

HUGE BLOWOUT WEDNESDAY

*At least 10, as may as 20 staffers were SHOWN THE DOOR at CBS' Bay Area streaming site, a virtual wipe-out of its costly existence.

*No big names were let go. But rumor has it that it's only a matter of time before TV News (KPIX) gets the 86 treatment

    1. Unfortunately, you need some basic skills to work at McDonalds.

  3. My sources tell me there will be MASSIVE LAYOFFS among KPIX technical staff, including editors, cameramen (and -women), and engineers. 33% of the reporters gone too, particularly the older ones. The excuse won't be age; it will be that they refuse to do their own camerawork and editing. The all-in-one journalist is what KPIX (and CBS) is aiming for. They are late to the party, but now the ax is going to fall. You can take that to the bank.

  4. Their news is so hard to watch filling in any anchor to do the news. It does give the 3 Asian reporters my favorite, Maria Medina a better chance, Andrea Nakako and least favorite Betty Yu on air.
