INSIDE 855 BATTERY the hot rumor is that KPIX has landed a "high-profile" anchor somewhere back east and is due to hit town late February and start sometime in March. I hope the new tonsil brings lots of muscle relaxers.
*If Raj Mathai turns down the latest huge offer from NBC he really, really, really, does love the Bay Area.
*No, the Radnich/KGO discussions (and that's what they are) haven't stopped. They're just at a semi-impasse because nothing has ever been official but if Cirlce7 wants him, they're going to have to throw in at least 4 Mickey Mouse cash credits. Radnich wants to get out of the house.
*Nine years ago Thursday, Christine Craft delivered one of her most memorable broadcasts on KGO as she anchored a live show when the crazed Arizona gunman shot Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and killed others. Craft interviewed reporters at the scene and was en fuego all night. That program alone should have garnered her a KGO time slot alone but Craft is sort of edgy I guess.
*The almost entire SF news media (TV, newspapers) are sitting on the Jeff Adachi story and believe me, it is a BIG story. If true (and it's probably is because many people say it is--those in the know) than it'll shock the world. The reason why everyone is sitting on it is they can't prove it and don't want to get sued. Stay tuned.
*Gene Burns, yes, had many health issues but the very specific reason he died was due to a heart attack. That killed him. And many doctors said that his death amounted to a broken heart.
*If there were a decent investigative reporter in town they'd go try to find out the case of what really happened to Ray Taliaferro. But that's not sexy enough I guess.
"if Cirlce7 wants him, they're going to have to throw in at least 4 Mickey Mouse cash credits. "
ReplyDeleteHow about free rides at Disneyland for his kinds for the rest of their lives?

ReplyDeleteWay to spin it! I didn't know this was CNN??
Actual investigative reporting's too much work, and it would interfere with all the clickbait and ads on SFGate.
ReplyDeleteOh Lord, truest statement of the month!
DeleteMeanwhile something strange is going on with The Countess over at KRON. She's been off for weeks. At first I thought it was an extended Christmas break. Now I'm not so sure. If she's off on Monday something is going on...
ReplyDeleteI would like to like her replacement, but there isn't anything likeable to like! Her replacement is a glaring example of what I have posted before, a by-product of social decay is media decay!
DeleteI wonder how far up the chain of command the corruption has travelled?
I remember when they said if you are coming to San Francisco wear a flower in your hair. Now they are saying if you come to San Francisco bring a pooper scooper.
Janelle Wang...A pleasure to watch, always has been, always will be. Her performance is picture perfect!
The Women Are The News.
I cannot imagine what that newsroom is like. Not to mention that household!
DeleteI just had a thought. What if Pero knocked her up?
DeleteHer mother passed away, assholes.
DeleteAww! That's too bad. I hope she's okay.
DeleteRaj has NOT received an offer. He's talked about it with someone on the East Coast but hasn't received anything.
ReplyDeleteHe can join Vicky Nguyen in NYC, or Sam Brock, but Sam has to travel.
Delete- New "high profile" anchor from the East plus Cook returning from maternity leave. I guess we shall not hold our breath about PIX finally waking up.
ReplyDelete- Good for Mathai if he continues to emphatically choose San Jose over 30 Rock.
- Circle 7 must not fall into the intimidation trap in bargaining with the Bentley. He may want to get out of the house, but does KGO-TV really think it is worth alienating its two best personalities, Ashley and Finney?
- I'm surprised that Christine hasn't responded to RL yet.
- If local SF citizens are fed up with the Adachi mystery and want closure to it, maybe they should ask 48 Hours, 20/20, or Dateline to help since the local stations aren't willing to stick their necks out. As long as there is enough interest, there is no excuse.
- Burns finding out the truth about Lowenstein didn't help.
- The Taliferro Mystery: Also a case of shen-ronn-igans?
"...maybe they should ask 48 Hours, 20/20, or Dateline to help since the local stations aren't willing to stick their necks out."
DeleteThose shows also rarely go after the powerful. It's usually small people's crimes. Simply put, the rich are just like you and me, except they can afford better lawyers.

ReplyDeleteIve heard this for almost a year! Still NOTHING!
