Where's Jon Miller? Does Anyone Care? SF Giants Broadcaster Lengthy Absence

  1. Rich - it's public knowledge that Jon Miller is taking a vacation. Dave, Duane and Mike wished him a good vacation on the post-game show before he took off two weeks ago. He is allowed vacation time during the season in his contract, but it just looks bad. I have been an avid Giants fan since and FP Santangelo and Joe Ritzo are unlistenable

  2. What do you expect from the arrogant Giants? Buster Ballgame and Big Bird won't talk. I had to read the Boston Globe to find out Devers never showed for a first base tutoring lesson from JT Snow. Slusser? crickets. Pavlovich? The same. Call River Islands. You might find Miller there.

    1. It wasn't JT Snow. It was Will Clark. He said so with Eric Byrnes on their Deuces Wild podcast over a week ago. The reason why was because they were playing the Red Sox and since Devers refused to play 1st base for them, don't you think it would have look like an "F you" if he's over there learning to play first with one of the Giants greatest 1st baseman in history? This story is much ado about nothing, Will said they will work on playing first when he's in town and the Giants are home after the ASB. If Devers doesn't come out, Will said "I'll go in the locker room and pull him out by the scruff of his neck next time." Classic Thrill!

  3. Uh, compared to what other markets are stuck with, we are very fortunate to have Miller, Fleming, Kuiper and Krukow. Three of those guys are in their 70s...and the choice is do we want to continue to have the pleasure of listening to them for some of the games or for none of the games. Rizzo and FP are fine, but they illustrate how fortunate we are to have the old guys still broadcasting.

    1. I agree on Miller - one of the best of all time. Fleming has lost
credibility with me after he said Matt Chapman was a Hall of Fame third baseman. A decent everyday player? Yes, but HOF
-- ridiculous! Kuiper is still good, but is never critical of the Giants when they have it coming. Krukow is a joke. He belongs
in the "homer" HOF. He's only a part timer now and has not used the opportunity to come up with any new material.
      Grab some pine, Kruk!

  4. Age aside, don't these guys already get five months off a year? I don't blame Miller though, I'm sick of baseball too.

  5. Miller was a nerd misfit in high school and never played a day of baseball. He is so over rated and corny.

  6. Rich:

If you were in charge of Giants Broadcasts what would you do?
