  1. Interview the daughter Rich. Ask her about her Ted Talk she sure seems like she loves the attention!

  2. I found this Rich, interesting timeline. She sounds completely cuckoo. https://crimetimelines.com/laura-michelle-owens/

  3. Rich, I am a member of SAG/AFTRA. I am still a dues paying member of the union to keep active. I have been retired for about 10 years now. The medical coverage is superb, and it used to cover the retirees for about $60 bucks a month...Why? because Medicare was covering most of it (80%) and the SAG/AFTRA part was going to cover the other 20%. About 4 years ago, Due to skyrocketing cost, SAG/AFTRA decided to drop the Senior Performers Coverage and sent us retirees to an insurance brokerage THEY CONTRACTED with to help the retirees find other coverage to cover the 20% that was no longer be covered by SAG/AFTRA. The Union provided financial help to the Seniors to cover what was going to now be OUT OF POCKET. It covers about 1/3 of the yearly cost. Just to clarify, you could choose any Insurance company you wanted through their broker. ie. Kaiser, Humana, Aetna, Cigna...you get the point.

So, we know Ronn is covered by Medicare, and that he does have to buy his own Medigap insurance to cover the 20% that Medicare DOES NOT cover. (Like the rest of the SAG/AFTRA Retirees) with the HELP of SAG/AFTRA financial stipend.

Somewhere along the way, It may have been you...BUT I AM NOT CERTAIN...that Ronn also has Long Term Care Ins. Good for him.

I am not taking you to task Rich, but that is how the SAG/AFTRA insurance works for retirees.

Now you did mention that some other problems have appeared in this, like Credit Card Companies, Ronn was a very opulent spender, he even had an "American Express Black Card" as I recall, so perhaps that is the reason Ronn is broke, and unable to cover his medical, he is busy paying off Credit Card Debt AND NOT PAYING his medical expenses.

I know Ronn, he is a very nice man, very generous in all categories. I am so saddened that this has happened to him and Jan. Unfortunately, I think this whole sorted mess belongs at the feet of their daughter. But whether she is the real culprit or not, SHE IS HIS DAUGHTER, and he would do anything for her.

  4. Yes, please keep shedding so much light on this story. Maybe, you can ask Ronn (just curious did his birth certificate mistakenly add an extra “n” to “Ronald”?) if he is absolutely sure he is not mistaken about use of the “go fund me” funds requested for his “medical” expenses. If a “yes” again then story/case closed, right? You gave us so much insightful info to this story not found anywhere else. Thank you.

  5. I agree with the above commenter. I worked with Ronn , at the original KGO, for many years, and he was an absolute pleasure to work with.

  6. The post about SAG-AFTRA Medicare health insurance is absolutely correct.
He has to come up with 20% usually through an insurance policy.

    1. These people saying Ronn was nice or pleasant to work with did not serve in a support role. He was a douche canoe.

  8. Is there no way an unbiased, third- party, state-certified accountant or even a bookkeeper could have been hired from the very start by Ronn Owens to track exactly how the money was spent? It could be done in such a way as to still maintain his privacy. Instead of listing the specific prescription drugs, just list them as "meds." Money spent on transportation, money spent on medical devices, etc. Considering the amount of money collected, this would hardly be a huge additional cost. Considering the health-related circumstances, you could probably find an accountant/bookkeeper, still an unbiased, third- party entity, to do it for free.

  9. I don’t think you are doing your friend, or is it former friend, Ronn any favors by keeping this story front and center. Don’t understand your motivation. You took his word on the go fund me funds’ use and now you seem to want to stir the pot. As far as everything else it seems to be public knowledge from the court judgement. Some local media stated the fact of a judge verdict of a certain dollar amount around the same time of the go fund me. What more do you expect from them without getting sued? You are a blogger or rather now a YouTuber so you can conjecture, form an opinion, or just express doubt. Just like us commenters. By the way, you have lots more YouTube comments on YouTube instead of this former written blog site. Also, maybe many new YouTube followers; so for you mission accomplished if that was what you intended. Do you see those YouTube site comments as you never engage with your own YouTube site with reply/comments? Seems commenters are thinking you are now questioning Ronn’s assertion to you; are you?
