They had an AWFUL signal though and I bought a lot of equipment just to be able to pick them up. They haven't been what they used to be in a LONG time however, grunge pretty much ruined the format as the same thing happened to KROQ in Los Angeles. Last time I tuned in Live 105 I immediately tuned out as they were playing a 90s grunge song I'd already heard a billion times. I couldn't believe it when I heard they were airing football games too- that has NO place on ANY music station! I've been expecting Live 105 to fold for a while now, just hope they can try something new and different with whatever replaces it.8traxrulehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04806438280120550963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4029870750479192711.post-78889596392468098122016-03-31T17:32:55.881-07:002016-03-31T17:32:55.881-07:00Maybe Live 105 will flip to MOR and adopt the KLOK...Maybe Live 105 will flip to MOR and adopt the KLOK call letters! KNBR 680 with its separate programming, KNBR 1050 with its separate programming and KGMZ 95.7 with its programming. And you are correct it. Cumulus will not give up the CBS sports programming under what I think is a national agreement, unless the agreement is terminated by CBS. Again, unlikely unless the revenue is upside down for CBS based on Cumulus sales performance. Maybe there is room for a news (and maybe talk format) station or if Bloomberg moves to the frequency from iheart. All speculation on my part but carefully considered. KCBS is doing well in revenue/ratings and must grow its revenue. KGO seems to be on a feeding tube so there is an opportunity and advantage.Rabbithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10251602917902597134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4029870750479192711.post-15074704007360769392016-03-27T22:06:33.056-07:002016-03-27T22:06:33.056-07:00Bummer. They serve a niche, albeit a dwindling one (changing Bay Area demographics is partly driving the decline). Agree, the repetitive playlist makes listening tough these days. Back in the day with Alex Bennett in the mornings, it was the cool station to hang with.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4029870750479192711.post-9776665940435979712016-03-27T19:37:54.999-07:002016-03-27T19:37:54.999-07:00Take The Bone with you while you are at it. Can't get one though. Two other stations already. They could syndicate the entire CBS Sports programming for nothing which would mean Cumulus would have to partner with ESPN radio on 1050. All told this won't happen. Whatever it is there will be automation and syndication of courseAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4029870750479192711.post-17826170277215536842016-03-27T13:41:16.631-07:002016-03-27T13:41:16.631-07:00Worst than bad programing is way too many commerci...Worst than bad programing is way too many commercials. That's the main reason I don't listen to radio.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4029870750479192711.post-43849106946755460312016-03-27T13:14:33.428-07:002016-03-27T13:14:33.428-07:00I gave up listening to local music radio about fiv...I gave up listening to local music radio about five years ago. My problem with the stations is repetitive play of a very small play list when there was so much good music out there... Not saying Sirius/XM is any better they repeat a small play list over and over too. At least in the car there are more channels to choose from and at home I have a 16,000 channel internet radio (not iheart or Pandora which are only subsets of it). So I don't need local music radio any longer sorry to say. I started getting bored with local radio back when KFRC played the Bee gees over and over to the point they were driving people crazy (I still can't stand them all of these years later).
