  1. It's probably time for Marty to hang 'em up anyways, but he should only blame Big Bird.

    1. Agreed. It feels like Marty had his run, at least with KNBR, last decade. He just had that documentary made about him, "A Baseball Mensch"? Might as well go out on KNBR on top.

KNBR is changing and it feels like Marty doesn't really serve a purpose on KNBR like he used to. When they took off his long weekend postgame shows after Giants games on the weekends, that may have been the beginning of the end for Marty on KNBR. The allure of Marty was kind of taken away with that decision. Marty's long postgame shows were great, and it was great to hear callers talk ball with Marty as well as getting Marty's takes on the Giants. Hearing callers talk to Marty about the Giants and about baseball reminded you of how it's like when you talk with your family or friends about baseball, about the Giants.

Marty has a Youtube channel and usually is on with Krueger, Glen Kuiper, et. al, on Youtube. If KNBR doesn't bring Marty back next year, he can always go the Youtube route like so many are doing now.

    2. @6:23 I don't think Marty is hurting for money, so not being associated with KNBR isn't a catastrophe. If I was in his shoes, I'd travel the country and really enjoy the games at every ballpark.

  2. In addition to hosting an informative radio show Laskey also does on-field work for some of the Giants special guests. He hits fungoes, tells stories and is very gracious with the fans who are fortunate enough to participate

  3. I appreciate Rich Lieberman telling it like it is , like Howard Cosell use to say. Rich is not kissing up to anyone, which is refreshing, its why I check each day what he has to say. There is no one else , he 's not out to make friends, or is afraid to say what needs to be said. Keep on a going Rich.

  7. Marty is a shiil and a homer -- just like Kruk, Kuip, and Flem. Jon
Miller has retained his objectivity. Laskey is authentic and honest
    about the Giants' performance.
