From my where I sit at KRON, we are probably pulling in more cash from retransmission fees than actual advertising because Nexstar gutted our highly rated newscasts and replaced them with laughable, bargain-bin CW prime-time and low-tier sports. Add a payroll that’s embarrassingly behind the other stations, and you’ve got a straightjacket that no one can escape. If Nexstar doesn’t fix the terrible CW programming and stop shortchanging payroll, KRON is doomed. Plain and simple.
