The pre-game show on KPIX was horrible. Vern sucks! Da Lim should stay home on a Saturday night and make another kid with his wife. Darren Peck weather report was useless. Yet, the icing on the cake was having a former Raider do a 49er pregame and postgame. What a effn joke!
Fitz's big mistake was hosting a talk show which gave people a glimpse into his character. Once the ski season starts, I usually listen to games on the way home from the mountain. Doubt I will do that this season. This is just bad PR for the Niners.
Greg Papa and T Roid are so childish with the nick names, play calls and over the top banter. It looks like they are trying to bring in somebody worse with Haberman. Any play by play guy is better than Papa, maybe Brett Jones?
Guy Haberman was the fill-in A's pre/post game host for a few years. He does a capable job in that capacity, but he's not a PxP guy. Finding someone to fill Papa's shoes on short notice isn't easy.
They had short notice. Most of the good tv guys are already signed up for the preseason. At least we did not get smug Rudy telling us about how he invented football.
I guess we all underestimated Greg Papa’s overall skill compared to these guys. There were things like the touchdown call that drove some of us nuts but we went overboard as some of the Giants’ home-run calls are getting old and annoying too. I read Papa is optimistic on his recovery but choosing not to disclose the cancer type. The non-disclosure of type is concerning but hope it is something discovered in time and he can be back in the broadcast booth with side kick muscleman Ryan, fanboy homers though they both be rightly or wrongly.
Yes it's practice, same with the television coverage. Yes, the audio glitches were annoying, very annoying. But this is part of pre season, practice and work out mistakes.
They should do what one of the network's did years ago for one game. No announcers. Just the score, down and distance and time on the screen. And thrown in a few stats now and then.

ReplyDeleteWhat a effn joke!
Da Lim has no business discussing sports.
DeletePractice games that season ticket holders are forced to.pay full price for.
