KGO Radio: Stupid Station Run By Stupid People Who Have Stupid Hosts Who Cater To Stupid Listeners

Image result for stupid people  KGO RADIO, Circa 2017: the radio outlet for stupid people. Or at least the destination for the brain-impaired individuals who are regular listeners to the daily crap spewed out by the mindless morons who are aided and abetted by stupid management; or what constitutes as managers, being that KGO is now run by an ignoramus.

Of course I'm generalizing a bit but seriously, I don't know anyone with half a brain that actually listens to KGO anymore and why should they?

Should they be listening to the clueless wonders from Branson, Missouri in the morning; the tea party dolts with the cackling, phony laughs called Armstrong and Getty? What a bunch of mindless dopes with all the authenticity of a Sacramento strip mall. STUPID!

Should they make time at 10 AM to hear the opening moments of the highest-paid mattress whore who doubles as a talk-show host; the vanilla, so-called, "Mr. Softie" whose idea of sanguine radio is to play footsy with a 50 year-old housewife from Livermore named Gail who invented stupid, "Hi Ronnnnn, 'first-time caller, long-time listener!--I want to talk about me and my husbands first date!" STUPID!

I already crapped on Ethan Bearman but in case you forgot. Because stupid people listen to KGO and because KGO is run by STUPID people I thought it would be best to refresh your memory.

I don't have to go on and highlight the rest of the quisling line-up for that would amount to really fucking your day up and why do that now? That would be dumb and stupid; sort of like listening to some taped asshole out of Kansas selling real estate --wait a minute, that's KGO's first signature show on the weekend and about to be part of its nighttime schedule during the week, are you just kicking down the door to give a listen? STUPID!

I've said this a million times--KGO people think you are really stupid. They treat you as if you just got off the train from Lodi and hopped over to Fisherman's Wharf to buy one of those cheap touristy camera because you have a cheap smart phone. STUPID as as STUPID goes.

And as long as they have willing and able yahoos to man a microphone, they will continue to spew out the BS, the nonsense, Mr. Softie/Ronnnnnnnnnn shit that is better suited for a Ross Opening in San Carlos. I hear a lot of stupid people shop at Ross, the same people that listen, still, to KGO and are orgasmic over Ronnnnnn's latest manicure on Union Street and "The R and B Joke Hour." STUPID! Maybe it's time to have Dr. Tara Fields on the show.

I believe KGO is becoming the "Next Generation of Morons" and that those crumbs out there that still listen with frequency out of boredom or habit are, get this, really, really STUPID!

Did I say STUPID?

    1. Crude comment it is neither here nor there, if you can't be more articulate and express yourself in a more civil manner, just shut up. Judging from your comments you don't have the intelligence to appreciate a Pat Thurston or a John Rothmann. So your opinion mean nothing.

  2. What about those morons to the left of KCBS AM on the dial? KNBR is in the same stupid house as KGO. A different set of zombies. Stupid to the left, stupid to the right. Stand up, sit down, fight, fight, fight.

  3. Why does anyone give a crap. Listern or don't listen.

I loved the old KGO (Ray T excluded). The old model make more revenue and have higher expenses Sales-Expenses = Profit. The new model, 2nd rate hosts, syndication show and less revenue. If you plug in the same numbers into the the S-E = Profit model and profit is higher Cumulus wins.

Its their radio cluster, KGO included, if you don't like it tune in elsewhere.

    1. Ray T was can't miss radio, especially during high intrigue political/news cycles. Kept up many a thousand listeners who should otherwise have been getting zzz's.

  4. John Rothmann gone. Stupidity bordering on criminal.

  5. The ratings are all you need to understand KGO's current situation. But I think you are little too tough on Ronn. Ronn's show remains interesting, with for the most part a good mix of topics. Ronn himself, well, like him or not, he's still the same ol' Ronn. Personally, I like his radio personality.

If I were running KGO, here's what I'd do

    Weekdays

    * Bearman, Bachelor, Franklin, and the early am duo, out
    * Ronn weekdays 9am-noon
    * John Rothman weeknights 10 pm - 1 am
    * Pat Thurston weeknights 7-10 pm weeknights
    * Brian Copeland noon-4, & to replace Ronn (eventually)
    * Will Durst either 6-9 am, or 4-7 pm, or after Rothmann

    Weekends

    * Maureen's pretty good, but she needs some mentoring.
    * Michael Finney's show remains interesting, stays.
    * Other weekend slots should be used for grooming and auditioning new live and local talent. Comedians tend to make for good radio talk hosts so Brian and Maureen can help with screening.

    1. I don't think Maureen is pretty good, she has just gotten better since her god awful start. I hate her "Hanging with Langdon, and "Let's have some fun". When I want fun, I go out with friends, when I listen to a radio show, especially these days with all the political stuff going on, I want some serious discussion about "issues of the day" that Gene Burns use to say. I like Brian, but 2 to 3 hours is enough, I think for most host a 4 hours show is hard to pull off, I think Gene Burns could have done it, I think John Rothmann can do it, but 4 hours a day for 5 days, will most likely give you a watered down version. I like John Bachelor for the most part, I don't often agree with him, but he knows his stuff and often talk about issues other hosts don't.

    2. I like your lineup;good job. Maybe get the Loya back between Ronn and Copie. Maureen's okay. Get rid of all the syndicated weekend infomercial crap. No repeated stuff like Ethan's show now. Live and local is what I like.

  6. I'd reverse rothman and thurston, john, 7-10, pat 10-1, dump copeland, get gil gross back, 1-4. news at noon and 4-7

    1. Oh no, not Gil Gross, did you listen to him when he was on 910? He was a total bore for about 90 percent of this show. Keep Brian Copeland for 2 hours, keep Ronn for 2 hours, and I agree switch Pat and John, except I work late and leave work around 9:30 and since I like John more than Pat, I would love to have John come on at 10, it would make my commute of about 1 and 1/2 hour seem like nothing. Perhaps news in the morning and 1 hour at noon. Lots of possibilities, but have no faith in Cumulus actually trying to please their listeners.

    2. Ronn's 2 hours minus commercials and news breaks is about a 45 minute show. Give him is hour back; they're paying for it.

    Fantastic Line-Up!
Thurston is Sharp as a Tack!
Thurston is very eclectic! And would bring in lots of new listeners!
But Stupidly...they put her on Weekends.
BEARMAN & KRISSY...Terrible...He talks about Minnesota more than the SF Bay area...And that Krissy?? Her voice?
It's like listening to a Laughing Kindergarten Little Girl!

    1. Thurston has been on KGO forever. Has she gotten great ratings and lots of new listeners, ever? Bearman is not listenable at all.

    2. Amen to the Krissy disaster, the fact that someone in management thinks that Kackling Kris is airable on any station tells us all we need to know about the abysmal quality of KGO management. Will they ever take a hint and sell KGO to someone who knows what they are doing?

  8. I sometimes wonder if I live in a parallel universe because it's nearly impossible to take a Nbr 1 rated station and utterly destroy it in less than five years. But Cumulus pulled it of flawlessly with insane, stupid, poorly thought-out decisions. A classic example due to be in broadcasting textbooks forever.

    1. Agree, but it can be deduced that has been their plan. Recall after the '11 purge Owens and others said, "Yeah, well, ratings have been declining and this is a fresh, innovative change bringing high ratings." Of course we all knew it was all BS and it hit us that this corrupt company cum-u-less was all about willful destruction of its stations for monetary AND political reasons. They've accomplished what they set out to do and the Dickies and their cronies have laughed all the way to the bank.

  9. Perhaps the suits that cater to the wealthiest 1% didn't like KGO giving a 50 thousand watt voice to those callers who advocate for the middle class, the 99%, so they torpedoed the station on purpose, to put those that advocate for the 99% off the air.

  10. I think that someone is forgetting that half of the population is below median intelligence, which is a market demographic.

  11. Well it's not half but there is a percentage and it comes to around 34% are below average.
