GREAT NEWS; 'Sink Back on TV News in Bay Area!

Veteran TV News anchor/journalist and all-around good guy, Tom Sinkovitz, is coming back to Bay Area TV...he'll be a contributor at KNTV --NBC Bay Area

I reached out to Sinkovitz --pressed really, and he confirmed the news.

"I'm working on some stories right now--'this is not a full-time job, but I'll do some reports every now and then, but I'm very happy," he told 415 Media.

Sinkovitz also told me his health is improving. "I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't have the energy. I'm feeling pretty good."

Sinkovitz revealed to me in April of 2015 he was dealing with stage 4 Lung cancer. So far, he's beating it.

Sinkovitz has been in the Bay Area for over thirty years having worked at KRON for 17 years and an earlier post at KNTV in 2010.

Great to have 'The Sink' back in business.

  5. This challenges the definition of what Stage 4 Lung Cancer is supposed to mean. Apparently, one can become stabilized at that level of the condition. Even still, I suspect he is employed as a free agent or independent contractor. Well, good for him, and his family. There is more to be done other than sitting around waiting for shoes to drop.

  6. I know how tough it is to deal with this deadly disease. My wife is facing the same battle as Tom and is doing equally well. Thank goodness for modern medicine!

  8. Cheers for Tom -- we are rooting for him -- and also good for KNTV, which has found something that might help make the station look like something other than a bland middle-market NBC affiliate in the hinterlands.
