Ken Stabler Was Reported To Be Dead Before He Was Reported Not To Be Dead; Updated: Stabler Family: He's Died

Kenny Stabler, the star 70's Raiders QB, is, for the moment, very much alive according to the Oakland Raiders, before, earlier in the day, he was declared dead by a host of media outlets, first, by the Tuscaloosa (Alabama) News and then subsequently a plethora of "news" outlets, (including good old SFGate) repeated the "story" of Stabler's demise.

Not to mention, KPIX, KCBS, KNBR, KGO.

  7. Hall of Fame caliber QB, and what a fun-loving character! As many have stated, he was the perfect QB for the Raiders of that era. His book "Snake" is an enjoyable read!

Alabama, The Raider Nation, and "The Santa Rosa Five" just lost one of their own.
