A Star is Born: Meet Riley Curry

By now, most of you have seen this. I hesitated to post it because it's all over the Internet which is the only thing from making it 100% genuine but in a digital age we've become accustomed to such elements.

This is Riley Curry, the daughter of Warriors' superstar guard, Steph Curry, after the game last night in Oakland. Everything else speaks for itself. A star is born.

Enjoy.

  1. ....and some of the "reporters" at the news conference were/are griping about it.

  2. You are so right!

I hate basketball, but love Steph Curry and now I love Riley, too! Beyond cute - both of them!

    On another note ...

What is going on with sfgate.com? It is a mess! I tried to contact Jessica Mullins a week or two back, to no avail. I couldn't get an email address. It was very easy to contact her when she worked for The Patch almost two years ago. Does anyone know how to contact her or somebody else over there in charge of the gate?

    Thanks

  3. Adorable lil Riley livened up what would've surely been another stale press conference.

  4. Rudeness and self centeredness thinly disguised as 'cuteness'. This child has not received proper training at home about keeping her mouth shut when Daddy speaks.
She already knows how to manipulate the scene and so what if it makes her father look incompetent. She is allowed to get away with it. Raised by parents who want to be friends vs leaders and teachers.

    1. I guess you and your parents grew up with a stick up your ass. She's 2 years old for fucksake! It's not your kid, so shut your "1950s style of raising a kid" mouth up.

    2. Hey asshole, she's 2 years old.

    3. I agree. As a fan, I didn't enjoy hearing it when KNBR replayed it this morning. It was noisy and not really funny.

Now, I have nothing against Stephen Curry, and think he comes across as a great guy overall. But like most of this and the last couple of generations, he is overly indulging his kid, and too many people facilitate this by the "oh, it's so cute" routine, when she actually wasn't cute at that moment, or funny.

    4. 3:31 and 3:32 obviously could have used some of that "1950s style of raising a kid" action. I guess right now they're spray painting a wall somewhere, or marching down Market St. demonstrating in favor of demonstrating...

    5. A couple of angry, white men. Pay the trolls no mind.

    6. She is a child and is very cute. There is nothing wrong with her home parenting and Steph can bring her with him anytime he wants to. You need to get over yourself and get a life.

    7. @2:23
"...and so what if it makes her father look incompetent."

Incompetent? That's rich, especially since your posts--both here and at 4:06--are rife with grammatically flawed sentences. Your ignorance aside, the derisive tone of your posts suggests that you weren't exactly raised well, either.

    8. 9:30, point out the grammatically flawed sentence in 4:06's post. It is correct, unless you're speaking Spanish or Ebonics.

    9. 8:28, how would you describe Danny Glover? As an angry black man?

Is it still "not OK" to accurately describe him as such, being as how so many poverty pimps get upset at that term? Or are you fine with it since you seem to have no problem throwing the angry white man term around with no basis in reality?

    10. @7:59
      Or in your case, gibberish.

    11. Re; 3.31 and 3.32. Both you boys need your mouths washed out with Ivory Soap, and loss of cell phone privileges for six weeks. Be glad I don't take off my strap!

    12. 9:40, the sentences were well constructed English language sentences, using long established vocabulary. Perhaps it's "gibberish" because you disagree with it? Or is it "gibberish" because your reading comprehension doesn't go beyond the average rap "song"'s lyrics? "yo, dawg, kill cops fo hos"...

    13. Gawd, are you that thick, 10:05? It's obvious what 9:40 was referencing. Maybe you should go back and listen to more rap "song'" s.

  5. It's a little kid being a little kid. What's the big deal? I don't get it.

  6. Yes, she's a cute todder. No one is arguing that.

    But why is she there?

    1. Have you ever brought your kid to work? I work in a cool place with a great atmosphere that is mesmerizing to youngsters. Appreciate it before that innocence turns into cynicism.

  8. I knew I could count on seeing some repugnant commentary about this child and some if you delivered big time.

    1. Better watch out. 9:30 above will mock you for your "grammatically incorrect" sentence. ("some if you")...

But then, you're on 9:30's side of the argument, so 9:30 won't play grammar/spelling police (as it did incorrectly in regards to 4:06's post...).

  9. I thought it was both cute and adorable for the first 90 seconds. After that, I wanted a babysitter to take Riley away from the podium so that we could hear Stephen's answers uninterrupted.

Does that make me a heartless monster?

  10. Obviously most of you people jack off and don't have a life, sex life, or kids.

When you have kids your whole way of looking at things completely change

    1. Obviously you ARE a jackoff. People can like kids while knowing there are appropriate and inappropriate times for them to do their thing.

As 9:23 says, for the first few seconds, it was cute, then it wore off and was not cute or funny.

You seem like the kind of person who lets children run things, as opposed to having adults run the show so the children benefit from guidance and stability.

  11. I think it's tough to indict someone's total parenting by watching a father and his child for less than two minutes. I have two kids, 12 and 19, both very polite and very respectful kids, but there were times when they were two when they misbehaved in public. I guess I should be glad it never made it to the Net where folks could judge me and them in that short amount of time where they weren't on their best behavior.
