The KSFO Morning Show Is The Worst Garbage on Bay Area Radio

Want disgusting, repetitious, ghoulish and bathroom humor peppered with enough racist, misogynist and vitriolic garbage to fill SF Bay?

Welcome to the KSFO Morning Show with hatemonger Brian Sussman and cringe-inducing sidekick and alleged news/traffic anchor, Katie Green.

I'm going to be civil about this uncivil mess and it really is a mess.

To be specific, a four-hour cacophony; a wasteland; an audio cesspool littered with hate, ultra-right-wing talking points that Susspool repeats ad nausea from the Drudge Report, (more on that later). It's the same old tired song every minute, every hour, daily. Sussman could be hate-mongering, vitriol-spewed and entertaining --he's neither of the above. In fact, this program is plain terrible on its own, even some conservatives have taste and constantly e-mail me that this garbage-fest is not what they listen to. That KSFO markets this crap as "hot-talk" and the only "conservative" station in the Bay Area is like describing the Nut Tree as the Taj Mahal.

Sussman used to be merely annoying and loud. When that didn't resonate in the ratings, he and some of the other geniuses at Cumulus decided if they couldn't move the right-wing meter by coordinating GOP/We hate Obama talking points, then they'd go for the gutter and begin a morning-zoo-style buffoonery and they have achieved that status only the program is terrible. Frightening, awful, hateful, (yes, I use that word again), and perfect tools suitable for some Houston tea-party breakfast show.

Sussman and his nincompoop "producer" discovered a train-whistle. And cow moos and fart noises. How insightful, how meaningful. This is what you get by listening to the dreadful KSFO morning show; "news" updates that pretend to be "live and local" delivered by a giddy, teenage-wasteland of a woman whose voice sounds like a pimple-faced cashier from a Hayward strip mall. I'm trying to be kind. At best, it's awkward--at worst, this yenta could make your head explode.

Sussman and his band of idiots like NOISE. Lots of it. Apparently incapable of hosting radio,  Sussman likes to infect his presentation with frequent train whistles, cow moos, fart noises. In between that creative verve, Suss--manning Drudge Report, takes headlines direct from the site and puts forth his take...and then repeats the same tripe twenty minutes later...and again, and again. I'm not kidding. It goes on and on and on and is, I would guess, meant for every known moron that probably thinks that American Idol is a documentary and watches Honey Boo Boo on a regular basis.

It's not that it's bad. We've all suffered through just plain bad radio shows and moved on. It's not that it's conservative-oriented. Sussman's pedigree of going for the gutter has cost him several, notable conservative voices including George Will, Mort Zuckerman, and the like...Sussman's cesspool is a breeding ground for older, white, angry, truck drivers who wouldn't know Cap and Trade from Cap Day. It's a cornucopia of mediocre ranting and raving from 5-9 AM on Susspool's extravaganza complete with a barrage of daily, anti-Obama spit, and old at that. It's not bad because he picks on Obama--hell, even I pick on Obama and I voted for him twice. You can be unique and creative, just like the late Lee Rodgers was, and pick on Obama all you like but if that's your only game, then you become like a low-grade political Groundhog Day--there's no there there. It's not only a right-wing fetish, just ask Stephanie Miller, who did the same with George W Bush and soon after, her radio show crumbled.

Sussman, who was destined to be replaced by Cumulus last year, instead took a significant pay cut and decided to stay on the air--that's the only reason why we're subjected to his shenanigans --and Cumulus will keep people, even undignified low-rent players like Suss on the air at a cheap rate. The end result, though, is a dangerous, self-serving bozo fest with enough kitty litter to please the SPCA.

The KSFO Morning Show is, hands down, the WORST radio show on Bay Area radio.

How is his show any worse than Karel's? Perhaps because Karel's hate-speech comes from the left?

Which reminds me, I tuned into Karel talking about the Paris massacre, which he preceded with a proud declaration of his French roots. But then he followed by massacring two of the most common words in the entire language, 'Je suis .. " (as in Je suis Charlie), saying at least a dozen times, "jay soose charlie:

  2. However bad it is, it really can't be worse than Joel and Corey on 910. Listening to those two talk about current affairs that don't have to do with Britney, Miley, Kardashians is the worst. I have seriously heard better, more intelligent hosts on some of the college radio stations around here.

  3. "...who wouldn't know Cap and Trade from Cap Day. " Good line, Rich!

9:37: Bad comparison. They both suck.

  4. This is the best you can do? Yawn, between your continual banner about KGO and KSFO, it's getting old. Try new material please!!!

  5. Rich is overdoing it with "worsts." According to Rich, everything is worst.

  6. Considering there's a lot of trash on Bay Area radio, for the KSFO morning zoo to be the worst really is an achievement. Worse than the chef dude Ryan Scott, worse than Mo Langon, worse than Karel!? My vote for second and third worse are two right wing hacks Georgia and Chuckie Freedman on KSCO. Awful radio at its worst that only uneducated trashy truckers find entertaining. The same types who get angry about "political correctness" and that they feel constrained by not being able to use the "n" word freely.

  8. "Worst Garbage on Bay Area Radio " is an complete understatement.

If Marconi's heirs ever heard that dreck they'd return his Nobel Prize.

  9. I don't listen- but let me guess.Sussman and Green never bash Israel. They hate taxes here used for the poor, but don't mind the trillions over the decades to Israel.
One thing I notice about Sussman- Rush. They defend Israel to the extreme..but here's my point- they rely on an audience that grew up calling Jews, Christ killers.
That's what gets me. Same for Savage. His audience of Jew haters must pretend his name is really Savage. I've never met a arch conservative that said he admired Jews. Never.
One of our weird play both sides American con man conservative dogma's.

  10. I appreciate your honesty Rich. Most Bay Area folks won't come right out and admit that they voted for Obama twice. I'm seeing lots of partially scraped off, torn off bumperstickers from both of his wretched campaigns i.e. media concocted orchestrations. It's a question not to be asked (by a non-Kool-aid sipper) in polite conversation. Sort of like confessing to shoplifting a glazed Bearclaw donut at Krispy Kreme back in junior high school, something no one would ever know unless you told them, something to be forgiven, forgotten and maybe laughed about.

    1. Bay Area folks who voted for Obama twice wouldn't vote for Romney over Obama if given a third chance. They're probably upset he's not MORE progressive.

Don't confuse your ignorance with the pure idiocy that it really is.

    2. I voted for him twice. Did you vote for W twice? Could you explain even if you did not, what is the terrible thing Obama has done in 8 years? Healthcare? I'd rather have an insured person visit the emergency room, because that means I am not upcharged to cover their bills.. Bin Laden? Done. Stock market? up. Home values? I own a home and they are up. Do you? Jobs? Up. So please, tell me what Obama has done that is so much worse than GWB.

    3. That WASN'T THE POINT if you read the piece. THEE point was that even "Libs" as Sussman would call us who voted for Obama aren't exactly thrilled with his job performance, even with his many notable accomplishments you pointed out.

The point is that I don't have to be LIB, Conservative, Neutral or whatever--entertaining radio doesn't have to have a political mark on it.

      Go read the post again.

    6. I don't know where 11:34 roams, but believe you me, I voted for Obama twice and I'd vote for him again! I think "most people in the Bay Area who voted twice for Obama" would eagerly be willing to share that!

But then again, I don't frequent Fox News. I just rely on facts.

    7. However, it is only speculation, not "fact" about how other people in the Bay Area who voted twice for Obama would vote for him again.

  12. even if one listens in part to other KSFO shows, they are peppered with these horribly repulsive 'promos' for the morning moron show! these 'promos' are right up there (or DOWN there) with Kars 4 Kids & the True Car spots...AGHHHHHH!

  13. Could we just watch Katie, without the sound? A halter top would be nice.

    1. Katie Green's whole on-air persona is at least 99% brash and abrasive. I mean, her voice varies between gravelly and loud, shrieky and caustic (especially when she's reading the news and doing traffic reports), she says umhmm and yeah a lot when listening/replying to Sussman, and her cackling laughter is especially off-putting.

It's like the girl has never heard of elocution lessons before getting into a radio career. She pretty much talks like she talks on KOFY's "Dance Party" (i.e. no such thing as an "indoor voice").

It seems like that she more than often, brings out the worst in Brian Sussman (not that he would've necessarily been good on his own) or vice versa. I don't know why she's on the air other than she'll work cheap, she takes attention on how poor Sussman can be on his own, and Sussman and/or KSFO in their infinite wisdom is trying to pander towards a younger (i.e. millennial) demographic.

Regardless, Katie Green just comes across fresh out of the Valley, immature sorority girl with a chip on her shoulder.

  14. If I remember correctly, when Obama defeated Romney in 2012, Suss and Green were really angry at Mitt for running a terrible campaign. They were so mad the morning after the election. They were not happy campers!

the midday show on kabc, which is moving to afternoon drive time is the mirror image of the ksfo morning show...right down to the tasteless one liners from the male host

and dont be surprised if bryan suits appears on kabc or ksfo as a host

For many Republicans...the main thing Obama has done wrong is that he was born BLACK--and that he was elected and re-elected as the President of their beloved U-S-of-A.

  17. Hey Rich, us folks here in Houston are irked about you saying we should be having your crappy hosts on our crappy right wing whack job radio stations. Our crappy right wing whack jobs are doing well where they are, so long as no one makes me listen to them. Every day is Groundhog Day....

  18. You say George Will and Mort Zuckerman won't go on Sussman's program. Rich, are you just pointing out those particular names at random to make a general point about Sussman's loss of credibility, or do you have inside information that those two people absolutely refuse to go on Sussman's program? If true, I can see why Melanie Morgan was wise to jump ship.

  19. I agree 1000% This is not the KSFO that made me Conservative. BS has been a Circus Act, ever since his first Ass Kissing Fill in "Show" back in the early 2000s I have not Tuned in since this joker took over, So I have never been exposed to Ms Green. Knowing BS I am sure the only thing missing from the show is reality. I would say Lee is spinning in his grave, but he saw the train wreck coming. He was smart enough, to the hell out while he still had some credibility.

  20. You should see his website. It's hilarious. He calls himself a "Bay Area media icon." He was a weatherman. Reminds me of Bill O'Reilly. The first time I saw him, he was hosting some syndicated Hollywood gossip show on TV.

    1. In addition, quoting from his website biography: :

      > In February of 2010 Sussman was promoted to headline the KSFO morning
      > show—the top morning talk show in the Bay Area, and one of the most
      > successful conservative morning talk shows in the country.

      > Brian is a regular substitute host on the nationally syndicated Mark Levin Show.

Not only does he routinely misrepresent his credentials and the Morning Show's ratings, BS has also managed to convince Levin that he is worth "substitute" status on a broadcast platform that affords nationwide exposure. As a shameless Levin wannabe, he mimics the behavior, language, and content of his "mentor" on a daily basis. With Drudge added to the script, there is scarce testament to an original thought or expression.

Clearly, BS acceded to a pay cut in order to remain on-air while marking time in (false?) hope of attaining the national syndication to which he aspires. Then again, do we know what Levin has assured in exchange for guest hosting? What is the underlying basis for expectation that motivates this relationship?

  21. When some of us worked there, it was not ironically called "the world's greatest radio station." Now, I am careful to admit any connection with the place, even having walked the same halls as the greats and won every major national radio news award. Thank you, my old friend from KPIX, Brian Sussman. Why are you doing this to yourself?

  22. Rich, I love your site. I have been listening to B.S. and his 2 shrill shills off and on for years. Please expose him for now identifying KSFO as "your alt-right Bay Area station" - I don't see anything indicating that this is sanctioned KSFO. Even Mr. Trump has now officially denounced "alt-right"

  23. Politics aside, it IS bad. Actually, it's terrible. It's a cheap, clown circus act with two idiot clowns who don't seem to realize that they aren't funny, that in fact they are pathetic. All of their acts have become stale, but they repeat the same failed nonsense because they lack the knowledge and self-awareness to move on to something new, maybe a talk show without all the snorts, whistles, cattle and train noises? But the show is 'all about them', they prattle on like a couple of teenagers after prom night while their audience is left in the 'lurch'. The 'damn Jim' and 'I tell you, I tell you' routine by Brian is beyond annoying and whatever possessed those two knuckleheads to think that reading the Nevada County Police Blotter again and again I'll never know. But besides being boring and irrelevant, it brings unwanted attention to us foothill residents an d portrays us as a bunch of hayseed hicks. I long for the old days with Lee Rogers and Melanie Morgan, they were far more professional than these two. Maybe Briana and Katie need to lay off the morning coffee...
