Sex in the City Media 415 Absolutely Delicious; Wandering Jew Wanders North Beach and Beyond; Thank God It's Friday

When it comes to nooners, after-work la de das, mega-screwfests the ladies and men locally here manning the mikes, gazing steadily and not so steadily into the teleprompter like the weather people the best. Then sports guys and traffic lackeys too, but ...at the end of the day...everyone is doable.

There's the guy at KRON who loves boobs. Lives for boobs. And then there's her. She always delivers. I will tell you she's really, really, really, into the main man and you can pretty much figure that one out.

PIX: There's a redhead in sales that has captured the attention of almost every guy in that building...she's married of course but that hasn't stopped the peckers. Oops....so that traffic chick on the radio that likes to eat at  that deli on Harrison near the Bay Bridge? Whoa Nellie!! Please, sister, get a grip --this chick has created more dustups than a big rig out of whack on 880! So...check this out: the most honed-in TV guy by the nefarious ones happens to be happily married and isn't a player but every day he's challenged --and word is eventually he'll succumb. I'd say the odds are 2-1...KTVU: Best looking AE's in the business. Pencil skirts and black stilettos en masse --a virtual 'Basic Instinct' hot house wide and right in Jack London Square!....Jimmy Porthole over on Broadway told me a real ladies man from the Woodpack machine near Battery is a regular at Centerfolds --good for him, probably a decent cheer-up for the 5 and 6 he has to engineer Monday through Friday...Hey, you want some real straight-up action? Seriously, do this: Go over to the Van Ness Holiday Inn bar on, say, a Wednesday night after 7--after waltzing through the cheese fish take a peek in the very back dark table in the rear: amazing action! You'll be damn surprised at the circus, but it's a good one--well worth the search for the parking spot but trust me, a regular sex machine and they both could care less---and THAT'S THE FUN PART!...There's this TV weather chick who after 2 margaritas? Shit, Caligula would be proud!...Last but not least one Cumulus boor from the morning noise is really fond of whips and chains!! --I mean, serious shit and all but what the hell, if it spices up his stupid show, maybe it's good --and definitely good therapy for him.

**Meanwhile seriously ladies and gents, you won't believe what took place last Monday night at Perbacco on California. I just finished my swordfish and clam chowder at Tadich and ventured next door. It was loud and boisterous as usual as the after-work crowd was milling around this where, every where and who walks in? My separated-at-birth homey, Jeff Garlin--he from 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' fame with a stunning brunette ! She looked like a young, lean Liz Taylor. I was at the end of the bar nursing an overly-chilled martini. He sat down--she went to the powder room and returned only to get a standing ovation as the other grunts paid little attention to him. Wow, what a scene. I told Garlin: "you're one helluva 'lucky guy!." He smiled back and bought us all a round. God, I love Jeff Garlin....

*Hey, watched the NFL Draft over at the Royal Exchange on Thursday night. Complete bedlam. Too much noise. Sure, lots of eye candy and a decent burger --but blast central ...and the broads? Good gracious,  more pumps in that place than a Shell station! ...Sauntered over to Boulevard and saw, of all people, Al Michaels and his lovely wife. He immediately recognized me from an interview he did with me and Larry King after a MNF game many moons ago. Al's favorite hotel in town is the Clift and I agree wholeheartedly but boy did they screw up the Redwood Room...Hey, a few weeks back I was a guest on the 'Will and Willie' Show and a whole bunch of 'yous gave me shit for kissing Willie Brown's ass--farthest from the truth. Willie is entertaining --and damn funny, and hell, at 80, still can rock a room. What? Was I supposed to ask him about his pimping the Central Subway to Nowhere --perhaps, but all I would have got is a get lost, sucker! So there. Mike Wallace would have done the same thing...

*FAT TONY, the toast of North Beach and a modern-day Davy Rosenberg, was out and about over at the Columbus Cafe. He's fond of telling me that "the news on local TV stinks!", yeah, no shit, Tony, have you read my column the past 7 years?!...If you'd care to see a local celebrity other than yours truly take honey cakes over to Original Joe's some night: get the hamburger sandwich--that's what they call it and it's gigantic and the best --and peer over to one of the booths. A virtual who's -who Smorgasbord of SF political power, old North Beach money and a few of the remaining Italians not named Alioto. By the way, the place is great, (I pay for ALL my meals, ask Mr. Duggan) and just as good as the old one in the Tenderloin--easily the very best restaurant in the city...

*TED ROBINSON told me he'll be doing the TV on 49ers games this pre-season ...Husband and wife coolness at KRON: Justine Waldman and Grant Lodes...Juliette Goodrich and Roberta Gonzales are gal pals over at PIX and some of the nicest ladies in the biz--so yes, naturally the next thing you know I'll be accused of something. Yeah, like I wish ...if KGO-TV were smart they'd give a call immediately to soon-to-be-departing Diane Dwyer over at NBC Bay Area...Sven Silva over at KSFO, the guy with the fake name, (Spencer Hughes), and stupid, not-funny show is appointment radio for people who like shitty audio...Breaking News! Larry Beil laughed!

  1. I like Spencer Hughes. A little annoying, but very earnest and introspective when necessary. I imagine him being a middle child, where you have to flap your arms to get attention, and that didn't always work either.

Oh, and here's some Non-Local News you may or may not be aware of; On Monday May 12th, 2014, Harvard University will be hosting a BLACK MASS on school grounds. Nothing religious, mind you, just a 'teaching session about other ways of life'. The local Catholic Church in Boston is in an uproar, as you could well imagine. A guest speaker from the Church of Satan will be there for a 'tutorial'. The Catholics are planning a counter mass across the street in an actual church to occur at this same time. If any of you posters are Grads. of Harvard and still send dollar donations, WAKE UP! This is not the same Harvard your Grandad and his Dad went to last century. The moral-relatives have taken over. Look it up yourself. I could never weave such a fantastically miserable tale if I tried. Hopefully, this sacrilege will be prevented or never again repeated.

    2. There is no such thing as "Satan" so don't worry about it. More harm done by evangelicals and literalists than these nut-jobs.

    3. Do Easter egg hunts and Santa at the Mall also offend you?

    4. Re; 2;53; "No such thing as Satan"....... Wellen, Boy, don't you EVER believe that he is 'nothing to worry about'!!.... You need not be a literalist, just remain in pursuit of what Enlightens and Builds vs what Frightens and Kills . Stay in denial if you want to, you wind up walking Arm in Arm with the Devil and not even know it (but everyone else will)!!

    5. I like and hate Spencer Hughes, is he on par with Gene Burns, Lee Rodgers or John Rothmann intellectually? NO, absolutely not. Is he better than Sussman, Gil, Frosty and Ethan Beaaarman (this is how he pronounces his name) yes. I like him when he stands up for gays, I like him when he does fun and off subjects, which he does fairly often, like who would be your dream prom date living or dead (mine was Paul Newman orJFK) did you have a favorite car, what was it and why (mine was a Corvette Stingray 63 or 64, because in 68 I had a boyfriend who owned one, the other BMW 528 e 82 because it was mine for 11 years), those are fun and entertaining subjects and crosses party lines, Gil Gross use to do some of that when he was on KGO. I hate Spencer Hughes when he beats up on the President, not because I don't think he should be critical of Obama, but he bitches about things that ALL presidents do, like his visit to Walmart today and the cost, I can't stand it when he rails against the minimum wage, because he makes the assumption that people making minimum wages is lazy, not ambitious and not very smart.

    6. It's true. We are VERY conservative Republicans (yeah, yeah...I know - what in the hell are we doing in San Francisco) but even we know the administration has reached a point where it's doing the same sorts of things every administration does on the downhill.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. There is no such thing as conservative radio in San Francisco (Sussman is an embarrassment) and frankly damn little talk radio that's worth listening to. Ronn is a shadow of his former self due to age, illness, burnout, etc. If I want quality in this market, it's NPR or John Batchelor/Larry Kudlow on KSFO evenings.

  4. Ah,..I see what Radnich meant when he said a few months ago that a certain morning show host on KNBR is only happy in chaps. At the time, who knew? He named him. I thought it was a strange thing to say as a joke,I guess it wasn't a joke.

But,why make him feel bad? Its SF,fly your freak flag of human sexuality.

  5. You gotta watch those "moral relatives"! I think you meant, those "moral relativists", but I'm not sure. In any event, Harvard is not a church, it is a premier institution of higher learning. As such, it can and has forever allowed the study of history and its many ceremonial aspects. Are you afraid that a recreation of a black mass somehow threatens your personal orthodoxy?

    1. 11:15 am, To answer your question on whether my orthodoxy is threatened by this event taking place. No, not my own. Even though I was a teenage atheist (sounds like a movie, no?), decades ago, I always thought for myself, I never felt the need to walk about trying to destroy other people's belief structures. I've reversed back into religiousity, some might call me a Cafeteria Catholic, because I chose the doctrine I'm most comfortable with. I'm not concerned. What does worry me are the majority of people who have grown up believing that all faiths are of equal significance and possible benefit, with no one faith being any better than another for humanity and/ or the individual. I don't believe that. I believe this particular 'creed' only exists
to serve as an antithesis or counterpoint to Christianity. This way of belief only exists as a methodology of diminition, derision and destruction of all that is good and life giving. I think many consider it exotic and edgy, and are therefore easily ensnared into this dark pageant of those who have lost all faith. This may indeed happen. It won't be The Apocalypse, but it will serve as the starting bell for many, many imitations, all at the expense of faiths that exist to build you up, vs erode your soul. Go ahead and laugh, but that is my belief. Have a good weekend Christine.

  8. Hows this for my ability to piss off white and black,Jewish or Christian?: I tried to post the fact on Lowell Cohn and Marcus Thompson blogs that all the black coaches are fired..but Scalabrini is still there, and Erman who has on his resume "I spy on co workers" not only was he not banned by the NBA nor blacklisted, like all the rest of us certainly would be...but Erman was hired a day after being fired by Boston! Yet,all the law abiding black assistant coaches are unemployed!
So,I write that..Lowell Cohn deleted it twice. I wrote it on Marcus Thompson's blog..he deleted it FOUR TIMES!!. Now with MT2,I suspect my writings on this here 415 blog of Rich's about Monte Poole breaking a handshake of local writers to not appear on KNBR,might be what MT2 holds against me.
I only see it on Tim Kawakami's blog. New respect for Tim over calling for Sterling's banishment just got higher in my view with this new breaking development.
So,I guess the firing IS controversial despite what some say.

    1. I don't know why you're complaining. You have your own blog to post that crap.

      Delete
    2. Stan: You don't get it. There is a reason you have been banned from some blogs. Please Rich, stop the man. Do not post any of his incoherent thoughts. He takes pride in his bad grammar, says the same message and insults all who criticize him. Stan, read the comments after you "post" in this comments section. One of them this week had nine people blast you. Oh yeah, I am not a Republican nor intern.

    3. I don't get it???. lol. How many times do I have to say,My posts aren't direct, they are approved..and lately improved if I do say so myself.
I guess Rich feels the need to balance with what is really non criticism. Yeah,I will not ever post because I know you would do the same for me....
But,if Raddy can complain and follow with " As long as you listen" ..I guess its good for me to say "Bitch on,as long as you read 415!"... and few other superior blogs I post on.

  9. Not sure what the obsession here is with Spencer Hughes' name. Do you frequently write about Michael Weiner or Ronn Lowenstein? And those are just two names to start with...

    2. Just for next time. Common Portuguese surnames confused with the closer south of border surnames: Silva,Garcia, Diaz. Oh,and Meredith Vieria and Natalie Morales last names are from Portuguese roots. And they married white guys, not Mexicans or Puerto Ricans.
The white MLB player named Diaz? He insisted his last name be pronounced -get this- DIE-AZZ. And every announcer bought into that. Why didn't his family just change their name to Smith if they were that ashamed to be confused with Latinos?..lol..dumb.
And,who's not a Hispanic? Mark Ibanez and former ch7 longtime reporter Don Sanchez. His real name I heard was Bob..something. I cant remember . You know like applying for a job at Louie's authentic Pizza because you said your Don Corleone. And its really Abdul Martinez.
Chances are its only in your head it makes a difference. Especially nowadays.
      Yes,last post of the day..
