"Boy, did you get out in time."

Indeed.

  2. It's a shame what has happened to the traditional electronic media and especially newspapers and magazines, what with deregulation, fewer customers and shrinking advertising revenue. This has led to an increasing reliance on the internet and all of the new '21st century' technology, which can be very helpful, but also has conditioned many to have little patience.

What has happened to many of our younger generation in America has also been very disturbing, as they've become conditioned to display less attention, and consequently show less interest and understanding about important or complex issues.

As a result, we are less aware and more distracted than ever before, and people would rather settle their differences by yelling and screaming at each other than approaching problems in a calm, measured and intelligent manner.

Look no further than Washington DC to see evidence of this as the 'politics of divisiveness' are no being practiced daily, especially by people like Ted Cruz and those in the Tea Party.

  4. If I remember correctly Greg was part of a cut made by KGO at that time. He didn't leave on his own. Greg was good on KGO. I seem to remember he went to Iraq and reported from there at the time. It was good to hear his voice again!

  5. Well, the truth is..Radnich and Charlie Pellet who usually does that spot...don't get along. Never have. And today even Greg Jarrett was trying to give Raddy the bums rush and let him do his thing. They ain't paid to be his comic relief,I'm sure they will tell you.

    1. BTW, as usual Stan's deranged fantasies about Radnich are wrong.

Radnich and Pellet engage in tongue-in-cheek banter which is mildly entertaining. Maybe it's too subtle for Stan to understand or maybe Stan's poisoned delusions about Radnich make it impossible for him to perceive anything normally.

Stan, please crawl back into whatever hole you've been in for the past several months.

    2. You can read my other posts answer. Sure,Bush and good old Saddam engaged in playful banter too. Distance didn't stop them from being pals.

  7. I thought Stan left in a huff or was thrown off of this site by Lieberman. Why is he back?

We get it, Stan hates Radnich. Great.
Supposedly Stan was going to start his own blog where he could comment every day about his Radnich obsession.
Maybe that didn't work out for him. Is that why he's come crawling back to resume posting his repetitive Radnich rants?

    1. You sort of answer your own musings, don't you see that? It stares right back at you in black and white.

And KNBR loves my blog..they take from it all the time. Lowell's blog too.

  8. Yes, the world IS changing and has always been changing, but some of the changes mentioned in 10:10 anon are NOT for the better. Blithely accepting them is a cop out.

  9. KGO's "all news" format was a front for them cutting the brilliant minds of Len Tillem, Gene Burns, John Rothman, etc, and replacing them with less interesting and talented people. Pat Thurston excepted- - she rocks.

  10. As far as that comment: "some of the most hateful people I've ever met are liberals." It once again sounds like someone who is angry at being called out for the nonsense they espouse. Liberals gave us FDR, JFK, the 40 hour work week, medicare, social security, the Civil Rights Bill, equal rights for women, and landmark environmental protection (although the more moderate elements of the GOP helped here...i.e. Nixon who signed the Clean Water and Clean Airs acts into law, and helped to get the EPA off and running.)

What is it about 'liberals' that you don't like? The fact is, from 1980 through 2008, this country had a more conservative bent politically speaking, in terms of the leaders we put into office. Some were okay (Reagan), and some were not so good (Goeoge W. Bush). But the GOP and the conservatives had their day. The Dems and the liberals are not at the top of the list of popular people today, but it's quite obvious that even more Americans are disgusted by the shrill minority who make up the Tea Party. Those folks hypocritically wrap themselves up in the flag and wave the Constitution. Yet they have no idea of what that precious document even means, as their recent action shows their lack of understanding how our government has been operating, and is supposed to operate to keep things running smoothly.

    1. Right on. The conservatives want to "turn back the clock" Back to segregation and you lived as long as you could afford too. And that's why working men died at 42 and the Rockefeller's 90.
The richest more powerful country in the world. And the wealthy here call health care and education more "entitlements" we cant afford. Build bigger moats, higher walls, more guarded gates is their answer to everything.

  11. Hey 7:20pm anon, this bog provides a forum for discussion of issues and observations. There are a lot of us out here in the blogosphere who are not thrilled with some of the things that are going on. Yeah, we bitch, but I see a lot of bitching going on here in these threads about a lot of things. Some of the nonsense I read is pretty silly, but everyone has a right to there opinion. That's why the blog is here my friend!

  13. Excellent retort, 6:56. In full agreement with nearly everything you wrote. Just one quibble: Reagan was never okay. During his eight years in office, his less than hagiographic actions included funding illegal wars, tripling the deficit (largely due to exponential expansion of defense budget) and slashing the top tax rate for the wealthy from 70 to 28 percent, which set the stage for the income inequality chasm that currently exists in the U.S. The only people who think he should be canonized are Americans who don't read (i.e.-the teabaggers you correctly derided) or those who greatly benefited from his policies (i.e.-the wealthy).

  14. Hey 2:02 pm. I hope when you get older that you have money put away and a career that's secure. I'm lucky to have both, but it hasn't been easy because of what's been going on. More importantly, I see a lot of folks (many who are probably your age) who have fallen through the cracks because of what has happened with downsizing, consolidation, and things such as Citizens' United, which is now the law of the land.
These are not good things my friend and people that have a chance to change them should make an effort to try and do just that. Don't you want your kids to grow up in a country that is as well regarded and strong as the one in which you grew up?

  16. I couldn't stand Greg Jarret. It was amazing how he could turn any news stories into a story about himself. He had quite a knack for doing so.
