The Multi-Billion $ Subway Story That Nobody Wants To Cover; More CNN and KRON Waldman; KNTV's Janelle Wang; NBC And KRON; Savage Versus Hannity; Giants' Media/Corporate Rights Concerns A La Oakland A's; Three-Dot Media Friday

 THREE-DOT-FRIDAY

The biggest and potentially juiciest story of our times in this city that nobody wants to cover: a former mayor of the 415 that writes a newspaper column and is the attorney for a big-money city project; the husband of a current senator who got the bid for that big-money project; and the idea that those in the know who know everything haven't written a word...

*If CNN is to close the deal on KRON's Justine Waldman then they're going to have to up the ante...think logistics more than money and even that might not move the needle. The big meeting that is due any day hasn't happened yet because there's a been a lot of high drama behind the scenes at KRON. Maybe they just assume Waldman is staying. Stay tuned...One of the biggest reasons why the Giants are so anal about the A's even sniffing the dream of a San Jose ballpark is that the A's in San Jose cuts the Giants' TV/cable rights squarely in half--furthermore, more than HALF of the team's corporate sponsors, (read: Silicon Valley cash), comes directly from the Southbay/Peninsula money club. Now want to know why the A's, MLB, and the Giants are STUCK in neutral? There's only a few folks that are happy about all this mush: the lawyers. As usual...If KNTV, (NBC Bay Area), wants my opinion, and golly gee, doesn't everybody?, they should lock up anchor Janelle Wang immediately before another local outlet comes beckoning...NBC could and should buy KRON but if they want KRON, so goes the story, they must also BUY KRON's building on Van Ness too. Have you seen SF's commercial real-estate listings lately? OK, so that's just one hurdle...Speaking of Willie Brown, who walked into Original Joe's the other day, if the Chronicle should obviously know that Brown himself is widely loved and is amusing in the Pacific Heights corridor--that's not the issue. It's the people in Walnut Creek, Burlingame, Mill Valley--those that include a lot of Volvos and Saabs in suburbia that despise Da Mayor...Michael Savage's biggest obstacle: himself. He's far more body-of-work versatile than Hannity. The question is whether Savage can be excited about his new drivetime gig after a month or two when the searchlight is off...As long as you were interested NO, just because my new, powerful and exciting radio gig into a bolder, high-powered KSCO will prevent me from covering the blog, think otherwise. WHY? Because I never made a law preventing my critics from writing a media column and ripping me--GO AHEAD, MAKE MY DAY...Ted Robinson is great because he not only broadcasts the game, he packs your brain up with a ton of info too with proper excitement and PbP dexterity...The schmuck on KNBR 1050 who said NO women were successful at hosting a news, sports or entertainment show forgot about Diane Sawyer, Oprah Winfrey, Rachel Maddow, Katie Couric, but what the hell--why let facts get in the way of a good discombobulated rant...If Roberta Gonzales wanted the CBS Weekend Morning News weather gig, she could march into Black Rock right now although my best guess is that RG is more than happy to smell the air of Pleasanton as opposed to Manhattan...If Cumulus is looking at a country/NASH retrofit here, it won't be KGO Rafio. It'll either be KFOG or The Bone...Morning KCBS traffic voice retro intrigue: Ron Cerve...The America's Cup: a party nobody wanted to come to other than a few billionaires here and there--sure, at the end, one helluva nightcap, only the drinks were leftover margaritas...That KGO-TV reporter who was wilding celebrating his big promotion had quite a party the other night at Kokkari --only problem was the tip he left was about 5% of the bill. Maybe we're still in a recession.

  1. is Kara Klapper gone from ABC7? Haven't seen her in quite a while and I don't see her listed under the reporters on the ABC website.

    1. I would have to say yes. Rich is probably too busy looking for the smoking gun in his beloved name gate to find out though. Jade Hernandez gone. Kira gone. Anyone else?

    2. Guess I am just kind of surprised. I found her pleasant. More pleasant than Katie Marzullo. But maybe pleasant just doesn't cut it.

    3. Kira is a freelancer. Who said Jade is gone?

    4. Jade's husband got an out of state gig. Simple as that.

Wow. That's breaking news. Who knew? Answer: anybody even casually following the Giants/A's San Jose story for the past four years.

But you put parts of it in bold type like a real columnist to make it look like a breaking news flash. CNN isn't the only place over using the "breaking news" BS.

    1. And hey, did you know there's still SO MUCH MORE TO COME about the KTVU Asiana Airlines debacle. That's why Rich had to repeat everything yet again the other day, because there's SO MUCH MORE we don't know about!

    2. EARTH NOT FLAT, MORE TO COME!

  3. Really, Rich? What a clusterfuck of a post. How about mixing in a paragraph break. What is this?

    Meanwhile congratulations on your promotion.

  4. Subway story....I will take a wild guess....did Feinstein's husband get another big government contract?

If Feinstein is in her 80's (great doctor, she looks good)....how old is that husband?

I'll leave off the Bay Area liberal sheep comment

  5. Even if KGO goes "Country" they would get even more listeners than the lineup they have now and do it even more cheaply. They can even throw in "the bone" good measure.lol

    1. To hell with waldman! How about dropping some knowledge on someone worth talking about....Erica Kato!!! Now that's what I want information on, not some weak about to be run out of town reporter.

    2. I want some dirt on Rigo Chacon!

    3. Kato has a nice set of young tasty boobs but other than that.....talentless.

Why would anyone bother? No one cares. Everyone knows you live for free PR. I'm surprised you just don't make it yourself under a pseudonym.

    1. Rich is great at not posting what he doesn't want public. His lack of a thick skin is a major detriment. Get over it, Rich, or you'll fall prey to yourself.

    2. I'm the greatest thing here--that's why you are compelled to read me. You're sort of masochistic --I love it that you just love this site, let's face it--you're addicted. So am I, go have a cocktail on me.

    3. I also noticed how most of my critical comments are censored by thin-skinned Rich. Doubt he's censoring any of the "wow Rich you really tell it like it is" that come from his naive sycophants.

    4. Yeah, Rich is the greatest thing here which explains why his KSCO announcement has garnered less than ten published replies. The vast majority of people on the central coast think he has pictures of either MZ or his mother or both. I bet the negative comments outnumber the "praises" ten to one. It is a well known fact Richie boy likes to censor critical comments. Tough guy on air and on print but when he gets a little push back he runs like a pussy. Let me correct that! The fatso huffs and puffs in a slow walk when confronted with a little push back. Hi, I'm a big mouth with a baritone voice and I'm so cool and hip I spend half my show rehashing the 70s, 80s and 90s with talk of Seinfeld, OJ and obscure shitty shows of my pimple face high school years. Go jack off into the fedora you loser.

    5. Whoa, at 11:42pm. Why are you pouring out the Haterade
      to toast Rich's success?

  7. Let's see. For this big civic project, the ex-mayor is Willie Brown and the senator is Diane Fienstein?

  8. I loved seeing RG on the CBS This Morning Saturday a while back. She's totally underrated and underappreciated over at the PIX.

  9. Roberta in Manhattan? Not far enough. Bolivia has a nice ring to it though.

  10. Roberta Gonzales at CBS??!!??!! What a joke. She is the most talentless, overrated talking head in the history of Bay Area news. If a deal is cut, CBS would be wise to include a pre-nup should Roberta embarass them at a local watering hole.

  11. Talk about a story nobody wants to cover...Considering the A's very existence in Oakland seems to revolve around the sewer system, you would think that the Managing Coliseum authority- or whatever official title they have- Telling the media that the clogged system was traced back to a "private restroom" at the Coliseum. And yet,the media has done nothing to investigate further. Scott Ostler did a joke after that was reported..and as usual the blame was on the building. The Trib doesn't seem to care or the Merc. And it was never mentioned on Comcast/Yahoo. I had to get that info from A's haters KNBR.

    1. All three times the sewage has backed up (always during A's game, never Raiders btw) it was because someone flushed something down the toilet, a rag, towel, or baseball----most likely an A's employee.
