Savage; KGO-TV Pink Slips; KTVU Egos; Quick Saturday Bullet Points

  *QUICK SATURDAY MEDIA BULLET POINTS*

1. Savage is an entertainer and I'm a consumer. Maybe because I'm back immersed in radio now I don't take it personally. Some of you people need to back off a little, have a sense of humor and relax. Take things with a grain of salt, just like life and carry on. My god.

2. At KGO-TV, where a sense of plausible uncertainty exists, they're anxiously awaiting the 30th of the month when the pink slips are handed out and announced. Not sure how many staffers will be laid off, but the guillotine is out and ready to carve.

3. KTVU, wow, how the mighty vets act in a crisis. Hide, baby, hide.

  2. What happened to Ken Wayne ? It looks like he had some work done on his face. What do you know about that ?

  3. I was going to mention Ken Wayne. They removed the bags from his eyes and left them at the airport. Honestly I think he looked better before. Now he looks unnatural, and unnatural is worse than old. Melanie Griffith is a great example of that. AND he still looks old.

    1. I wondered the same thing; I turned on the 10 O'clock news and recognized the voice, but not the face. To me it looks like a brow lift or something, but he looks like a different person now.

  4. Ken Wayne has been looking a bit "refreshed" lately. I thought it was just me.

  5. If he had surgery, good for him! I don't think there's anything wrong with a man making some improvements... and let's face it, his face is his living, no matter his journalistic prowess.

    1. They're NOT improvements is the point. Seen Melanie Griffith lately?

    2. Ken looked better before he had something "done". He looks very tired now. Poor guy -- probably succumbing to the pressure.

  6. Savage is an entertainer, whose best days are well behind him. I'd say his weekly breakdown used to be: 3 good shows, 1 average, 1 bad. Now it has been flipped on its head, where he has 1 good show per week.

Comparing him to Bay Area hosts is pointless, since there really aren't any. And nationally, there aren't many of those either!

Yet if in fact Cumulus moved him into A-Drive in NYC, it will be an epic failure, for so many reasons I don't even want to get into it.

It's a sad state of affairs if his show now is what we're discussing as being "best."

But radio aside, the guy is a complete loser. And believe me, I know. No friends, insecure, sleeps with an animal more than a woman, and then of course there's Meryl...who said he has reasons to be insecure...

Successful in radio; loser in life.

If you want to listen to this guy 5 nights a week in the hopes that he says one thing funny, or has a good segment, kudos to you. There's not much else out there in the Bay.

  8. I always find it amusing that those who endlessly complain about the fall of "true journalistic integrity" are the first who comment on the age and/or attractiveness of television news anchors. It's insulting. You wonder why some anchors go under the knife? Pandering to the idiots who don't listen to what's being reported, yet instead concentrate on who's "hot" or not. Check yourself or take some responsibility.

  9. Ken Wayne looks more like he did the Kenny Rogers thing. Kenny Rogers doesn't look like Kenny Rogers anymore.
