I figured a Cal game must be on, but rerunning Owens form that long ago? And then having the wrong voice-over for a Niners' game? Come on, KGO and pig vomit. However, if sponsors feel the pressure from the public, and that economic boon ends, I see the owners saying: "Sorry, Roger." In fact I think that this sorry performance was meant to shore up public reaction for the sake of the owners, the bottom line ... and Roger. Sorry, Roger.

That said, I think that our initial public knee-jerk reaction to ANYONE of prominence, who doesn't please all people, at all times -- "Resign Now!" -- may be a bit overdone.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4029870750479192711.post-53090472643599840322014-09-20T10:51:55.330-07:002014-09-20T10:51:55.330-07:00They should have went 2 miles farther.to make it 4...They should have went 2 miles farther.to make it 49Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4029870750479192711.post-20829882227764158422014-09-20T07:16:17.578-07:002014-09-20T07:16:17.578-07:00Regarding tone, the Commissioner sounded whiny, pl...Regarding tone, the Commissioner sounded whiny, plaintive . . . almost fearful. In the spirit and intent of NFL leadership, could he not have earnestly apologized for perceived lapses without such protracted solicitous inflection?

It is one thing to concede mistakes in a straightforward, sincere manner. It is quite another regrettable trend to pander apologetically to sociopolitical interests à la mode.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4029870750479192711.post-41597782233028095982014-09-19T23:33:04.670-07:002014-09-19T23:33:04.670-07:00I can't stand this dude, he is a joke, and he ...I can't stand this dude, he is a joke, and he should step down, if he had "any" honor within himself.

The OP @ 7:03 is exactly right, this man does the bidding of the ownerships, and they certainly are not going to fire him?! But this is the same dude that green lighted Levi's Stadium, which as everyone knows by now is at a very bad location. With limited parking, limited transit, hot as hell conditions within the venue, and has heavy traffic conditions, so bad that the venue will never allow MNF, or Thursday Night Football. Why you ask? Because ownership wanted the team to move 47 miles away from the 49ers namesake City of nearly 70 years, smdh.

Goodell has done more to dismiss, & bring down the historic, traditional, legacies of the NFL than any other Commissioner before him. But on the flip side he has done more to line the pockets of the owners, & the league than any other NFL Commissioner. The NFL is a multi billion dollar business, and Goodell has catered to the owners, making certain that he helps to maximize their assets, so Goodell has done a terrific job in their eyes. Therefore, this unfortunate situation regarding players and domestic violence that is now dogging the NFL is NOT considered something that the owners feel should put his job in jeopardy. I will say this; at least Roger Goodell owned up to not handling the domestic violence suspension of Ray Rice very well, and he also later admitted to "not getting it right," which is a lot more than some commissioners in other pro sports would have probably done.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
