I haven’t really listened to In Depth since it was hosted by Jane McMillan (along with Ed Cavagnaro), and l miss that caliber of deep dives into relevant stories in the Bay Area. It would be great to have any sort of hard-hitting local conversation back on KCBS (and it would also be nice to hear Pat again).
And I don’t always agree with everything Phil Matier has to say, but if In Depth were to be a half-hour of hearing his perspective on things, or having him and Doug Sovern talk local politics/issues, I wouldn’t mind either.
She's much better suited for a gossippy, trashy format, not a fact-based, docu-style informational news program. She lowered KCBS' news standards even further from where they HAD been with her innane interviews which were not news. Her unprofessional opinions & commentary during news stories makes even students of broadcast classes wince in disbelief. No, Rich, i think we miss her laugh as much as kamela & Hillary's- zippo!

Agree 100%, and add to the fact Rich calls her horrible one month and great the next month
DeleteI disagree. Strongly. Likely the worst choice.
ReplyDeleteProbably not the "worst choice"- that honor goes to Dave Padilla.
DeleteKeith Menconi is still listed on KCBS staff list on their website maybe bring him back...
ReplyDeleteIt will never happen. In Depth now is a canned product from Audacy, & Mary Hughes has been relegated to late nights.
